Sound Pressure Level at Soho Sonic Studios

UK-based newcomers Sound Pressure Level are X Factor 2011 participant Roxy Yarnold, Sammie Ellard-King and Alex Wallace who have recently been recording their debut album at Soho Sonic Studios, situated in the heart of London. Production team UPIA, owned by OJ (Ofer Shabi) and Sefi Carmel, produced SPL’s entire album in Cubase 6.

Steinberg met up with OJ to talk about the band and the many projects he’s previously been caught up in.

Nuendo SyncStation firmware update

Steinberg is pleased to release a firmware update for its Nuendo SyncStation. The C106 version adds several options that make the operation even more convenient.

These enhancements include "dynamic" and "edit" offset settings enabling you to compensate offset generated by some video playback machines. Plus, new options for recording commands have been added and various minor issues have been resolved.

The free update is now available from the Steinberg website.

Steinberg endorsers Accept have entered the German album charts at #6 with their latest album Stalingrad. This is Accept’s second Top 10 debut over the last two years and reinforces their status as a true big time player in the international hard rock and heavy metal scene. Additional chart placements around Europe impress as well. In Switzerland, the album debuted at #17 and in Austria at #32.

Grandiose, enormous riffs, magnificent choruses, classically inspired solos, haunting refrains and the typical, raucous vocals — these are all legendary traits of Accept and brought repeatedly to extreme front and center on Stalingrad. New Training Center in Spain

PluginAudio becomes the first Steinberg Certified Training partner in Spain.
Their Cubase courses take place in Planta Sónica, the world renowned recording studio, which is located in the Galician city of Vigo.

PluginAudio hosts three levels of training (Elements, Artist and Pro). These sessions are held in fully equipped classrooms with Intel-based workstations. For convenience and signal-path quality, the classroom audio interfacing is handled by Steinberg's CI and latest UR series of audio interfaces.

At the Pro level the teaching is individual and includes 80 hours in a 5.1 professional environment plus another 20 hours of practical recording, mixing and mastering in the main studio.

With forthcoming intensive all-day masterclasses on WaveLab and HALion, Steinberg welcomes PluginAudio to the Training Partner programm.

Cubase 6.0.7 maintenance updates

Steinberg is pleased to release a free 6.0.7 maintenance update for its music recording and production systems Cubase 6, Cubase Artist 6, Cubase Elements 6, Cubase AI 6 and Cubase LE 6.

The update resolves several user reported issues and completes Steinberg efforts to bring all v6 users the issue resolutions, achieved during the Cubase 6.5 development cycle. For detailed information, please view the corresponding version histories.

Please note that in order to make the improvements available as soon as possible, the 6.0.7 pre-release update wasn’t entirely assesed by Steinberg’s quality assurance. Although the internal preliminary testing indicates that it is stable and reliable, technical support cannot be granted.
