Nuendo 5 Soon Available

Steinberg today introduces its latest software solution for post, live and audio production, Nuendo 5.

With dedicated ADR tools, enhanced mixing and routing options, surround sound capabilities plus a wealth of new and refined tools, Nuendo 5 boasts unprecedented flexibility, with a key focus on production workflow.

New features include an integrated ADR toolset for spotting and organizing recording takes as well as the brand-new video engine with overall improvements in performance and usability. The practical Clip Packages feature allows for organizing clusters of audio clips as one clip package file, and Wave Meters enables the user to view waveforms of audio events directly from within the mixer window. Nuendo 5 also holds a new generation of VST3 plug-ins and has seen major refinements to many of its well-touted tools, such as the mixer, MediaBay, VST Bridge, and Crossfade Editor to name but a few.

Nuendo 5 is scheduled to begin shipping in the first week of June 2010.

Nuendo 5 the World Over

With the advent of releasing its new advanced post, live and audio production system, Steinberg today is pleased to announce that it is presenting Nuendo 5 at certified Nuendo dealers and well-known post-production studios in more than twelve countries, from Japan to Europe over to the United States. Nuendo 5 will also be introduced at the AES Show in London, taking place on May 22–25. The tour’s initial leg begins on May 3, 2010, and will be under way for several weeks to come.

Nuendo 5 empowers professionals working in audio post-production for the film, television and media industry to higher levels of productivity, with a dedicated feature set that focuses on day-to-day production requirements like workflow, speed, versatility and reliability. Steinberg in Bosnia

The war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the mid-’90s not only cost 100,000 lives but also shattered a thriving music scene. Under the patronage of Billy Gould, bassist for the US band Faith No More, the cultural organization ALTER ART provides unique support to the country’s music culture since 1998. At the start of 2010 a sound studio was opened thanks to international donations. Here young bands now may record their music free of charge on a new Cubase system.

Steinberg’s product specialist Christoph Stepan was on a workshop tour in Bosnia and took the opportunity to have look at the tremendous job that the ALTER ART organization are doing.

Brotherly Back with Second Album

Steinberg endorsers Brotherly return this year with their second album entitled Find First Light. Featuring a set of great new songs that touch soul, hip hop, broken beat and electronica, this long player is now available on iTunes and will be released worldwide on CD on June 7, 2010.

Brotherly are London-based Anna Stubbs and Robin Mullarkey who blend stirring, soulful vocals with their trademark edgy beats. Drawing from their broad range of influences, Stubbs and Mullarkey effortlessly merge references to Boards of Canada, Joni Mitchell and 4Hero in their own seductive sound.

The band released their highly acclaimed debut album, One Sweet Life, in May of 2007 which received high praise from a wide range of press publications and were nominated for the “Session of The Year” on R1’s Gilles Peterson’s show.

m.i.p.a. for Cubase 5

Steinberg is elated to announce that Cubase 5 was awarded the m.i.p.a. for best recording software at the award show yesterday evening at the Frankfurt Musikmesse and which was attended by more than 300 representatives of manufacturers and distributors.

Cubase 5 was released last year with a host of sensational new features such as the meanwhile highly touted beat creation tools, its integrated vocal pitch editing toolset, extended composing features, the REVerence convolution reverb as well as many other workflow and technological enhancements.

Now on time for this year's Musikmesse, Steinberg is presenting the Cubase 5.5 update next to other exciting new products. Cubase 5.5 features performance, automation and video enhancements, as well as refined beat tools and workflow improvements. Cubase 5.5 will be released second quarter of 2010.

The m.i.p.a. (Musikmesse International Press Award) is an important award for the MI and pro-audio industry, where 111 magazines from all over the world vote for the best of last year’s products.
